What to expect in the box
You will receive the exact Thimble Cactus mound pictured, about 5.5 inches across, shipped rooted and bare root without soil or a pot. Important: this plant is made of many loosely attached heads, and some or many are likely to separate in transit. This is normal and not damage. Every loose head is a plant. Set the whole mound and any loose heads on top of dry, gritty, fast-draining cactus mix and do not bury them deep. Wait about a week before the first light watering, then begin a normal soak and dry routine. Grouped together in a wide shallow pot the heads knit back into a cushion. Spread them out and you can grow several mounds like this one.

Cacti can look slightly dull after a few days in a dark box. Color returns within a week or two of bright light. If your area drops below 40F, we recommend adding a heat pack to your order, as one is not automatically included.
