What to expect in the box

Your plant is hand-picked, wrapped in protective kraft paper, and shipped on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. It arrives bare root: a fully rooted plant shipped without a pot or soil, ready to plant right away.

Minor scars or pitting on the skin are normal for hardgrown cacti. Any discoloration near the base is from previous healthy growth in soil and is not a sign of damage.

Cacti can look slightly dull after a few days in a dark box. Color returns within a week or two of bright light. If your area drops below 40F, we recommend adding a heat pack to your order, as one is not automatically included.

The Senecio rowleyanus variegata, commonly known as the Variegated String of Pearls, is a trailing succulent with cascading stems of round, pearl-like leaves featuring variegation in shades of green, cream, and pink. This drought-tolerant, low-maintenance succulent is perfect for hanging baskets, decorative pots, and cascading succulent arrangements. 

Please Note: All succulents in our collection are shipped in 2”, 4”, or 6” pots. While some plants may have minor leaf loss during shipping, they will recover quickly with proper care.

✔ After Arrival: Your Variegated String of Pearls will arrive in a 2”, 4”, or 6” pot. Allow it to acclimate for a few days before watering. Place in bright, indirect light, and ensure the soil is completely dry before the first watering.

✔ Long-Term Care: Place in bright, indirect sunlight, with some morning sun if possible. Water only when the soil is completely dry, allowing excess water to drain thoroughly. Use a well-draining succulent or cactus mix to prevent root rot. Protect from frost and extreme heat, keeping it in temperatures between 65-75°F.
