What to expect in the box
You will receive the exact San Pedro cactus pictured, shipped rooted and bare root without soil or a pot. The pup stays attached. After arrival: unbox with thick gloves, the spines are sharp. Let the plant rest in a shaded, dry spot for 2-3 days, then plant in a sandy, fast-draining mix or a gravelly full-sun spot. Wait about a week before the first watering so the roots can settle, then begin a normal soak and dry routine. Some scuffing of spines in transit is normal and does not harm the plant.

Cacti can look slightly dull after a few days in a dark box. Color returns within a week or two of bright light. If your area drops below 40F, we recommend adding a heat pack to your order, as one is not automatically included.

A one of a kind rooted San Pedro cactus (Echinopsis pachanoi, also sold as Trichocereus pachanoi) about 21 inches tall and about 3 inches across, with a 5 inch pup already growing at the base. Smooth blue-green ribs, small white areoles and short spines, a clean crown and no scars. It is established in its nursery pot and growing.

San Pedro is one of the fastest growing columnar cacti, native to the Andes of Ecuador and Peru. It takes heat, cold to about 20 F, and neglect, and opens enormous white night flowers once established. The pup will keep growing alongside the main column, so this one starts as a two-stem plant instead of a single cutting.
