What to expect in the box
You will receive the exact multi-headed Cardon pictured, shipped rooted and bare root without soil or a pot. After arrival: it is heavy and stiffly spined with arms that catch, so unbox with thick gloves or folded towels and give yourself room. Let it rest in a shaded, dry spot for 2-3 days, then plant in a sandy, fast-draining mix or a gravelly full-sun landscape spot. Set it deep enough to stand steady. Wait about a week before the first watering so the roots can settle, then begin a normal soak and dry routine.

Cacti can look slightly dull after a few days in a dark box. Color returns within a week or two of bright light. If your area drops below 40F, we recommend adding a heat pack to your order, as one is not automatically included.

This is the exact plant you will receive. A one of a kind Pachycereus pringlei (Mexican Giant Cardon) that has already broken into a candelabra. A tall main column carries several thick arms branching from the base, each with its own crown of heavy silver spines, giving you the classic Cardon silhouette in miniature.

We grew this one from seed. Cardons normally spend many years as a single pillar before they ever branch, so a young plant that has already built multiple heads is a genuine oddity and a head start of years on the shape most people are waiting for.
