Description

The Mammillaria elongata, commonly known as the Copper King is known for its rich, golden-orange spines and tightly clustered finger-like stems. This compact cactus grows into dense mats over time, making it a show-stopping addition to any arrangement or container garden. It's drought-tolerant, low-maintenance, and thrives in bright light with minimal fuss making it a great pick for collectors and cactus newbies alike.

Please Note: Our collection includes bare-root WITHOUT any soil or pot and cuttings. Some of our plants may have minor scars, yet each one is guaranteed to arrive in optimal health and excellent condition. Additionally, any discoloration at the base of the cactus, particularly in rooted variants, is a typical result of previous planting in soil.

Cactus Care & FAQs

After Arrival: Let your Copper King rest in a shaded, dry area for 3–5 days before planting. This helps it recover from shipping. Use a well-draining cactus soil mix—something sandy with added perlite or pumice is ideal. Hold off on watering for the first week to prevent root rot.
Long-Term Care: Place in partial shade or full sun for the best color and compact growth. Water deeply only when the soil is completely dry—typically every 2–3 weeks in warm months and less in winter. This cactus prefers dry conditions and can suffer if overwatered.
Hardiness Zone: 9–11

USDA Zone

9, 10, 11
