Description

This is the exact cactus you will receive, a stunning, double-headed Ferocactus with vibrant spines. It’s a rare, mature specimen that makes an instant statement in any landscape or collection.

Form: Two large, globe-shaped heads growing side by side, creating a natural cluster effect that’s perfect as a centerpiece.

Size: Each head measures approximately 11–13 inches in diameter, with thick vertical ribs and heavy spination.

Spines: Deep reddish-pink to purple spines that arch outward, giving the plant a bold, sculptural look.

Crown: Topped with brilliant yellow and red fruits and developing buds, showing that this cactus is not only mature but actively producing.

Condition: Hardy, healthy, and fully acclimated to outdoor conditions. This cactus has been grown under full sun in our Fallbrook nursery, ensuring strong spine color and natural form.

Landscape Value: Ideal for driveways, poolside designs, or as an anchor plant in a xeriscape. Works beautifully when paired with Golden Barrels or columnar species like Mexican Fence Post or Blue Torch.

🌵 One of one: The cactus you see pictured is the exact cactus you will receive!

Please Note: Your plant will be sent bare-root WITHOUT any soil or pot. Some of our plants may have minor scars, yet each one is guaranteed to arrive in optimal health and excellent condition. Additionally, any discoloration at the base of the cactus, particularly in rooted variants, is a typical result of previous planting in soil.

Cactus Care & FAQs

After Arrival: Let your Mexican Lime Cluster rest in a shaded, dry area for 3–5 days before planting. This gives it time to adjust after transit. Use a well-draining cactus mix—ideally sandy soil with added perlite or pumice. Do not water during this period to prevent root stress.
Long-Term Care: Place in full sun for the boldest color and healthiest growth. Water deeply only when the soil is completely dry—typically every 2–3 weeks in the warm season, and much less during winter. Avoid watering near the crown.
Hardiness Zone: 9–11. Tolerates light frost, but prolonged exposure below 20°F should be avoided—cover or bring indoors during cold snaps.

USDA Zone

9, 10, 11
