Lobivias are among the easiest small cacti to keep, and a cool dry winter rest is the trick to getting them to bloom.

  • Potting up: Your soil ships as a separate bag. Fill in around the root ball in the planter, firm it lightly, and leave a small gap below the rim.
  • Light: Bright light to partial sun. A sunny windowsill is ideal indoors.
  • Water: Soak and dry. Let the soil dry fully between waterings. Empty the saucer so it never sits in water.
  • Winter: Keep it cool and nearly dry from late fall through winter. That dry rest is what sets flower buds for spring.
  • Temperature: Hardy in USDA zones 9-11. Bring it indoors before frost in colder areas.
