A one of a kind Dinosaur Back crested Blue Candle (Myrtillocactus geometrizans f. cristata) standing about 25 inches tall, grown into broad, smooth, wide-band fans with heavy dark spines, the big architectural expression of the crest that gives this plant its trade name.
This is the same mutation as our compact crest domes, expressed completely differently. When the fasciated growing line runs wide and vigorous, the plant builds these massive smooth paddles instead of tight folds, and given years it becomes a piece of living sculpture at furniture scale.
