After Arrival

Carefully unpack and place in bright light right away. Since this is sold rooted, it can be potted immediately into a well-draining cactus mix. Wait about a week before watering lightly so the roots settle in.

Sunlight Introduction

Start with bright, indirect sun, then gradually move into full sun over 1–2 weeks. Outdoors it thrives in strong sun; indoors give it a south or west window.

Light

Full sun to partial sun. Needs at least 6+ hours daily for compact growth. Weak light causes it to spread slowly and lose its dense cushion form.

Watering

Very drought tolerant. Water thoroughly, then allow soil to dry completely. In hot months, water about every 10–14 days; in winter, cut back to once every 3–4 weeks.

Soil and Pots

Use a gritty, well-draining cactus/succulent soil. Terracotta pots help extra moisture escape. Avoid oversized pots—just enough to fit the root ball snugly.
