This is the exact plant you will receive. A one of a kind Mammillaria elongata cristata, the crested Ladyfinger better known as the Brain Cactus, in a 4 inch pot. Instead of growing as neat little fingers, this one fans and folds into dense brain-like lobes, every inch of it packed with fine golden-white spines arranged in tiny stars.
Crests cannot be planted or propagated to order. They happen when the growing point mutates into a line instead of a point, and the plant grows sideways forever after. No two crests fold the same way, which is why we sell them individually.
It is also one of the easier crested cacti to keep. Bright light, a gritty mix, and a light hand with water are all it needs.
