What to expect in the box

Minor scars or pitting on the skin are normal for hardgrown cacti. Any discoloration near the base is from previous healthy growth in soil and is not a sign of damage.

Cacti can look slightly dull after a few days in a dark box. Color returns within a week or two of bright light. If your area drops below 40F, we recommend adding a heat pack to your order, as one is not automatically included.

The Chichipe cactus, commonly known as Polaskia chichipe is a columnar cactus native to central Mexico. It grows tall with sculptural, branching arms and a blue-green hue that adds a bold, architectural element to any landscape. In spring and summer, it produces yellow-green flowers that attract pollinators. This cactus thrives in full sun, requires very little water, and can live for decades with minimal care. It’s a fantastic choice for xeriscaping and desert-style gardens, especially if you're looking to add vertical interest and year-round beauty.

✔ After Arrival: Let your Cactus acclimate in a shaded, dry area for a few days before planting. Use a well-draining cactus mix, such as sandy soil with added perlite or pumice. Avoid watering for the first week to help it adjust.

✔ Long-Term Care: Place in full sun for the best growth. Water deeply but only when the soil is completely dry, typically every 2-3 weeks in warm months and even less in winter. Protect from hard frost (below 20°F) by bringing it indoors or covering it during extreme cold.
