Light The spiral needs strong light to hold its shape. Give it the sunniest window you have, or full sun outdoors. Move it into direct sun gradually over a couple of weeks so it does not scorch. Water Soak it, then wait. Water deeply only when the soil has dried out completely, roughly every 2 to 3 weeks in summer and much less in winter. Never let it sit in a saucer of water. Soil and Pots Use a gritty, fast-draining cactus mix with plenty of pumice, perlite, or coarse sand. Always pot in a container with a drainage hole. Terracotta is ideal. Temperature Happiest from 60 to 80 F. Keep it above 50 F and protect it from frost. Below about 28 F causes damage.
