What to expect in the box
You will receive the exact Balloon Cactus cluster pictured, about 16 inches across, shipped rooted and bare root without soil or a pot. After arrival: handle with gloves, the golden bristles are sharper than they look. Let it rest in a shaded, dry spot for 2-3 days, then plant in a gritty, fast-draining mix or a well-drained landscape spot. Wait about a week before the first watering so the roots can settle, then begin a normal soak and dry routine. Spent bloom pods on the crowns may shed in transit. That is normal and does not harm the plant.

Cacti can look slightly dull after a few days in a dark box. Color returns within a week or two of bright light. If your area drops below 40F, we recommend adding a heat pack to your order, as one is not automatically included.

Singles of this species are common. Mature multi-head clusters are not, the species offsets slowly and most plants sell long before they reach this stage. This one is flowering size, and each summer the heads crown with big satin-yellow blooms.
