What to expect in the box

Your plant is hand-picked, wrapped in protective kraft paper, and shipped on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. It arrives bare root: a fully rooted plant shipped without a pot or soil, ready to plant right away.

Minor scars or pitting on the skin are normal for hardgrown cacti. Any discoloration near the base is from previous healthy growth in soil and is not a sign of damage.

Cacti can look slightly dull after a few days in a dark box. Color returns within a week or two of bright light. If your area drops below 40F, we recommend adding a heat pack to your order, as one is not automatically included.

The Mangave 'Bloodspot' is a compact, hybrid succulent. This is a slow-growing and drought-tolerant plant. Though monocarpic, it produces offsets (pups) before flowering, ensuring the plant continues to thrive for years. Perfect for beginners as it requires minimal care to thrive. 

Please Note: All agave plants in our collection are shipped bare-root, without soil or pots. While some plants may have minor scars, we guarantee they will arrive in excellent condition and optimal health. Additionally, any discoloration at the base of the plant, especially in rooted varieties, is a normal result of prior planting in soil.

✔ After Arrival: Let your Mangave 'Bloodspot' rest in a shaded, dry area for a few days before planting. Use a well-draining cactus mix, such as sandy soil with added perlite or pumice. Avoid watering for the first week to help it adjust.

✔ Long-Term Care: Place in full sun to partial shade for the best growth and color. Water deeply but only when the soil is completely dry, typically once or twice a month during the growing season. In winter or rainy seasons, reduce watering to prevent root rot. Protect from hard frost (below 25°F) by bringing it indoors or covering it in extreme cold.
