The Agave filifera commonly known as the Paint & String Agave is slow-growing with deep green leaves. The agave has white filaments and markings throughout. The Agave filifera is drought-tolerant and remains a manageable size throughout its life, making is great for smaller landscapes and decorative pots. 

Please Note: All agave plants in our collection are shipped bare-root, without soil or pots. While some plants may have minor scars, we guarantee they will arrive in excellent condition and optimal health. Additionally, any discoloration at the base of the plant, especially in rooted varieties, is a normal result of prior planting in soil.

✔ After Arrival: Let your Agave Filifera rest in a shaded, dry area for a few days before planting. Use a well-draining cactus mix, such as sandy soil with added perlite or pumice. Avoid watering for the first week to help it adjust.

✔ Long-Term Care: Place in full sun to partial shade for the best growth and foliage color. Water deeply but only when the soil is completely dry, typically every 2-3 weeks in warm months and even less in winter. Protect from hard frost (below 22°F) by bringing it indoors or covering it in extreme cold.
