Description

The Mammillaria compressa commonly known as the Mother of Hundreds Cactus, is a fast-clumping, low-growing cactus that forms dense mounds of rounded stems. This drought-tolerant and easy-care species is perfect for rock gardens, succulent arrangements, and decorative pots. The Mother of Hundreds rapidly produces clusters of offsets, creating a spreading mat of deep green, stems lined with short, golden spines. 

Please Note: Our collection includes bare-root WITHOUT any soil or pot and cuttings. Some of our plants may have minor scars, yet each one is guaranteed to arrive in optimal health and excellent condition. Additionally, any discoloration at the base of the cactus, particularly in rooted variants, is a typical result of previous planting in soil.

Cactus Care & FAQs

✔ After Arrival: Let your Mother of Hundreds Cactus rest in a shaded, dry area for a few days before planting. Use a well-draining cactus mix, such as sandy soil with added perlite or pumice. Avoid watering for the first week to help it adjust.

✔ Long-Term Care: Place in full sun to partial shade for best growth and flowering. Water deeply but only when the soil is completely dry, typically every 2-3 weeks in warm months and even less in winter. Protect from hard frost (below 25°F) by bringing it indoors or covering it in extreme cold.

✔ Hardiness Zone: 9-11
