Description

The Agave americana 'Marginata' commonly known as the Variegated Century Plant, is a slow-growing plant. This drought-tolerant plant has silvery-green leaves with yellow margins throughout. This plant can reach up to 6 feet tall and 10 feet wide. This agave is perfect for desert gardens or large containers.

Please Note: All agave plants in our collection are shipped bare-root, without soil or pots. While some plants may have minor scars, we guarantee they will arrive in excellent condition and optimal health. Additionally, any discoloration at the base of the plant, especially in rooted varieties, is a normal result of prior planting in soil.

Cold Weather Warning

If your area drops below 40°F during the colder months, we highly recommend adding a heat pack to your order, as we don’t automatically include one. This helps keep your plants safe in transit. 🌡️❄️

Cactus Care & FAQs

After Arrival: Let your Variegated Century Plant rest in a shaded, dry area for a few days before planting. Use a well-draining cactus mix, such as sandy soil with added perlite or pumice. Avoid watering for the first week to help it adjust.

Long-Term Care: Place in full sun to partial shade for best growth and color. Water deeply but only when the soil is completely dry, typically every 2-3 weeks in summer and every 4-6 weeks in winter when dormant. Protect from hard frost (below 15°F) by bringing it indoors or covering it in extreme cold.

Hardiness Zone: 8-11
