Behind the scenes at our nursery
Shipping a spiny, top-heavy, living plant across the country is the part everyone worries about. So here is the whole thing, start to finish, filmed in our nursery. No edits that hide the messy parts.
6 minutes. Filmed at our Valley Center nursery.
What happens to your plant after you order
We pull and inspect the actual plant
Every plant gets looked over before it goes anywhere. If it is not one we would keep for ourselves, it does not get boxed.
Spines get wrapped, roots get secured
The spines are protected so they cannot puncture through, and the root ball is held in place so soil is not loose in the box when it arrives.
The plant is braced so it cannot shift
A cactus that slides around inside a box arrives broken. Ours are packed so that shaking the box does almost nothing.
It ships fast, and you get tracking
Plants are living cargo, so we do not let boxes sit. You get a tracking number as soon as it leaves us.
If it shows up damaged, tell us
Send us a photo within a few days of delivery and we will make it right. Email info@cactuswarehouse.com.
